Assign MX_INACTIVE without deprovisioning

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement to assign MX_INACTIVE to few users. But I understand that, it would trigger deprovisioning to the target systems. How can I assign this attribute without triggering deprovisioning? I guess DIRECT_REFERENCE=1, BYPASS_VALIDATE/MEMBER/MODIFY_TASK=1 will not work.

Previously I had very less repositories to manage, I used to remove the event tasks from repositories and assign MX_INACTIVE hence the deprovisioning wouldn't reach target system. Now I couldn't count how many repositories connected to IDM and hence removing event tasks and assigning it back would like doing a separate project

Any easier method, pls?
